Purpose
Seniors Outreach Program is a national initiative aimed at improving the quality of life, well-being, and inclusion of older adults through accessible support services, social engagement, and community-based programs. As Canada’s population ages—with nearly one in four Canadians projected to be over 65 by 2030—there is a growing need for comprehensive outreach programs that address isolation, healthcare access, digital literacy, elder abuse, and economic insecurity among seniors.
The program is rooted in Canada’s National Seniors Strategy and aligns with goals outlined by the Public Health Agency of Canada and Employment and Social Development Canada to support healthy aging, independent living, and active participation of older adults in society.
